Setting Up A Motivation To Lose Weight

A lot of people are aiming to lose weight, but a lot also fail to achieve the weight they want to have. Majority of the people who wants to lose weight (and that might include you) are only good and motivated during the beginning of the journey. However, the journey of keeping the weight off is a lifetime commitment.

Becoming healthy and physically fit is something that anyone must be integrated into a daily lifestyle. It is a lifetime commitment that entails patience, self-discipline, goals and motivation.

Here is why most people fail to achieve their weight loss goals;
  1. No goals
  2. No commitment for a lifestyle change
  3. No motivation

No Goals

Just like every endeavor in life, losing weight requires certain goals. There is nothing can be achieve if there is no goal set. Knowing how many pounds to lose and how many pounds is the ideal weight to maintain is an example of a good weight loss goal.

You can't truly reach something unless a goal has been set in the first place. If you don't have any idea as to how many pounds you want to lose and your ideal weight, consult a fitness trainer or your doctor and ask how much weight is ideal for you, base on your BMI(body mass index). Yes, there are plenty of calculators on the internet and you can reference those to determine your ideal weight.

Every person requires different ideal weight, as it will be base upon the age, the physical make up of the person and how old is the person.

Be Willing To Change Your Lifestyle

One of the important factors in losing weight and keep it ideal is a lifetime commitment for a lifestyle change. Certainly, losing weight not only requires regular workout but it also requires proper dieting. When dieting, choosing the appropriate foods is important as this will make or break the goal of losing weight.

Keeping a good level of health and fitness requires both proper dieting and regular workout. Sure, you can lose weight without going for exercise, but, you must pick the food (the proper food) to eat in order to make your body transform into a fat burning machine even while you're sleeping.

Having on a diet, does not mean to starve or to eat a lot less. Dieting means choosing and eating the appropriate foods and eating moderately. I'm not sure you've heard the word "portion control", it is eating small servings but eating them several times a day.

If you're used to eating 3 large meal every day, in portion control, breaking those 3 meals into 6 small meals and eating 6 times in an interval of few hours. Going on a hungry does not mean a diet, well, others might call it a diet but definitely it is NOT a healthy and the ideal diet you want to follow.

Before you want to go on picking the foods you want to have in your diet, you have to make a commitment to yourself that you will stick to it. Yes, it's OK to cheat on weekends, perhaps, but don't let that overrule your dieting and go back to your old habits. Stay on course no matter what and you'll be successful in your weight loss journey.

Motivation

This is another important factor when it comes to losing weight. Without motivation and enthusiasm you could stop what you're doing to reach your weight loss goals, and possibly forget the goals as well.
